JUJU still get the media coverage

Julius Malema adresses the mineworkers at Gold field.
The SABC still continue to put Julius Malema on screen. According to what is happening to MArikana as Malema once place the idea of mines nationalisation during his time in ANC. The important point here is that decision on how to cover events involving expelled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema, is based on news value and not popularity, SABC acting head of news Jimi Matthews said in a report on Friday. Every publicity look for something  that consist of News coverage based on news value .There has to be a responsible attitude however Julius Malema criticise the government and in the other hand the employees support Malema. My question is how they give Julius Malema a platform to send his message, does this increase more debate to the public and how we use our perception through NUM's. In Public Relation perception message need to be  contextualised  and think about the consequences because  Lonmin [JSE:LON] has offered striking workers a R900 increase to R5 500 a month for entry-level workers, "very far" from their demand of R12 500. All our eyes watch the tragic happens at Marikana but this offer is beyong or R5 500 too less for them, or the voluntarily took by Malema encourages more problem for desperation of poor people, bear in mind that he also use SABC to send his message. The SABC has come under fire after some staff members claimed that some coverage of Malema had been pulled.Matthews defended the public broadcaster's coverage, and said they had led Tuesday evening's broadcast with Malema speaking to mineworkers at Gold Fields. He said the SABC had not broadcast Malema's address.more

  1. I think that even though he is no longer the president of the ANCYL Julius still finds a way to stay in the spotlight. this could be due to the fact that he is good at finding issues in which to get himself involved in, this will in turn result in the spotlight being thrust firmly upon him.

  2. He highlighted the idea of nationalisation of mines, so it was not surprising to see him at Marikana addressing the workers. Marikana tradegy is one issue active now, the media will cover everything happening there despite of who they dealing with. Malema will still be on our screen and pint media is journalist act professional by feeding newsworthy.

  5. Malema is one of the big headed man who doesn't want to be adviced and say whatever comes in his mind.Media always want to keep in touch with the people in high positions and the ones who makes news. Now as he is under investigation by the HAWKS for misleading the mine workers,he will be on the spotlight as news maker of South Africa.

  7. Julius has the charector of an oppotunist and that is how he plays his political game and he is becoming a master in this department. His approach is very simple he creates drama and that always gets him back in the spotlight thus that makes it easier for him to manipulate the situation and then adress what he wants to address

  8. I do not get way the South African media is entised by the stupidity that the expelled Youth League President constantly displays in public. They give him exposure to all the nonsensical things he says and does, it is totally irritating.

  9. The fact that he has been fired from the ANC Youth League doesn`t limit him from raising his voice about what is happening in the world around him.He has a right to Freedom of expression, I agree he has mislead people but he deserves to be treated like other people.
